Gokarna - The hidden land of happiness.

Could paradise be any different than this ?

It's strange how you become a part of some place instantly. It was the month of September when I was finally planning my long awaited trip to Gokarna. I barely knew about the place and was always skeptical as to how it would turn out? Well, it surpassed my expectations and left me speechless.

Endless horizons

Gokarna as they say, is truly beautiful and untouched with its blue water beaches and some of the most beautiful spots for witnessing the sunsets of your lifetime.

I reached the town of Gokarna with a friend, early morning to be blessed with the amazing view of the sea and the charming Zostel. The whole town was still asleep while I could hear the chanting of prayers from a long distance in a temple. I felt as if I was back home.

After a 10 minute walk up the hill from the town, we reached Zostel. It was about 830 in the morning when we entered the gates of Zostel and I was totally lost in the view in front of my eyes.

Being here on an early morning felt like a blessing. Everything was at a standstill giving me a feeling that time has literally stopped for a moment. We settled in at the cafe of Zostel overlooking the whole town.

Early morning in Gokarna!

I just could not get enough of the place I was sitting at. Those empty chairs smelled of all the conversations whispering into my ears as I sat watching the beautiful waves hitting the shore.

Soon after we checked in, it was about time to have food. And I still remember, having food to the beautiful view in front of my eyes.

Brunch with a view!

Gokarna is well known for it's mesmerizing sunsets. I saw a spot on the hill right next to the zostel which seemed to be absolutely perfect for ending the day.

We started the walk up to the hill. The road was beautiful. After a short walk for half and hour, we finally reached the sweet spot. And I was speechless.

I still remember how I was unable to take it all in. The huge rock boulders with a blanket of greenery on surrounded by the might ocean was something out of dreams.

We then moved to Om Beach, Paradise Beach and finally the Half Moon Beach by taking a boat ride. Sailing the unending horizons of the blue waters here is an experience in itself.

Om Beach is definitely a long story for some other time :)

500 bucks for this view!

Suddenly I felt, taking a trip to this land of mysteries was necessary for me as it taught me many things. It made me realize that strangers are the friends that you haven't met yet. Also, I learnt that no matter how dark the night might be, there is always a new day waiting to be kissed by the first light of the morning rays.

A view to die for.
Truly, Gokarna is magical, for it leaves you speechless with its beauty and then pours into you thousands of words which are not even enough to describe half of the beauty it is.
